Working Through Trials (Don't Run)

Are you going through something hard right now?

There’s no doubt that life for us humans can be full of experiences, many of which can be negative or challenging.

And maybe today as you’re watching reading this, you’re nodding in agreement saying “yeah I’m going through it.”

Our first instinct when going through a hard time is to try and run out of it, or escape the uncomfortableness as soon as possible. But what if that wasn’t always the best thing to do?

The Bible says that trials have a God ordained purpose in our lives - to strengthen our faith, produce endurance, and to develop character and wisdom.

Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

James 1:1-3

It also says that you are blessed when you persevere through your trials, and that God is looking to approve, or reward His children who do persevere.

So whatever you’re going through today big or small,

Persevere a little longer. Keep fighting, and turning to God as your comfort, and your peace, like David prayed in Psalm 23.

Be encouraged that while it might not feel good right now, God is growing you, developing your character, and building your wisdom.

Don’t sprint for the exit of your trials. Stay the course, trust God and honor Him through your them instead.
